I got my Kobo HD Glo yesterday. So I had to learn how to patch the firmware which I knew nothing about when I bought it but it's a must for the features I want. My first impressions are how tiny it is compared to the PW1 The contrast is about the same as my PW1 but the high ppi and ability to add weight to any fonts more then makes up for the off black text. It's a great little reader. The screen lighting is perfectly even. No blobs or shadows or unevenness like my PW1 even in low lighting! Everything is clear including with the light off the background is clean.
The formatting control is awesome it's just what I am use to on my tablet apps but it's eInk. The case I bought fits perfectly and is lightweight but it will protect well.
The only thing I miss is getting books onto the device takes work. Right now I am downloading from Dropbox onto the device which is cumbersome.
I haven't read much on it yet hubby wanted to watch movies instead so we watched one of my favorite romantic Christmas moves called The Christmas Card I swear the hero looks like he walked off the cover of a Harlequin.
I am reading 4 books now. I started Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor after finally getting to watch Christmas with Holly which was great. So I'm reading three Christmas books and still working on Plum. Might hold off till new year to finish that one.
