Amazon's a little wonky when applying the credits. At one point when I had digital credits and a gift card, I thought I was using the digital credits at the deadline, but Amazon instead took the money from my gift card.
I didn't notice it until I wanted to order other merchandise and found my gift card balance had been reduced. It was confusing dealing with CS because by that time, the digital credits had expired. Amazon eventually got it straightened out.
Anyway, the moral of the story is that if you also have a gift card on your account, you might want to check right away to see that your digital credits are applied properly to a digital purchase.
