For eink Kindles, all highlights are saved in a file called My Clippings.txt. This can be transferred to your pc, and you can cut and paste from it to your heart's content. Be aware that it is a FIFO file. If you are reading two books at the same time, the highlights will be in the file in the order you created them. I have seen, on this forum, mention of some apps to separate out the highlights for the various books. Google might help you find one of them.
