Are you wanting to be able to read your highlights on just the device?
Or are you wanting them across several things?
Android is an operating system for tablets and phones. Apple also has an operating system. They are like Windows or Linux on a computer.
In all honesty, if you are a pdf guy, you really don't want an ereader. I have a couple of pdfs on my Kobo. It took me 5 tries to get the formatting where I could read the entire page. Note it was a list of my movies. The pdf ran many pages.
