Sony originally start off using LRF (no DRM) & LRX (LRF with DRM). Sony added ePub to the 505. Every Sony Reader since then has had support for ePub. The 500 had to be sent back to be fitted to support ePub. MS Reader was never supported.

Given that Jerry is using Sony Readers, a Kobo Glo HD that's on sale at Chapters for $99 (CAD) makes the most sense since it also handles ePub and by registering it with the same Adobe account, any DRMed ePub can be shared.
