I actually made some money this year by being the designated package acceptor for part of our neighborhood. Someone is always home here and we have a covered front entry. The UPS guy just rings the doorbell and bounds away. They do things for us during the year, so didn't really need to be paid for it, but I feel a bit like an elf when neighbors come to get their packages.
