That said, I am not sure that closing CC would do what you want. What really needs to happen is to empty the "back button stack". My mind is too slow at the moment to remember whether closing an app does that.
The desktop widgets give you this behavior today. Using one of them would permit you to avoid the second close on all "read" requests other than the first one.
