Amazon's deals remind me of when you were hunting for a last-minute present in the mall and every store you went in had awful slippers with fake wool pile, plastic gloves made to look like leather, and things like scarfs and ties filling the middle of the aisles. I suppose someone must buy that sort of thing because you see it every year, but it looks like the remnants of a very bad garage sale. In the case of Amazon's daily deals, they repeat the same supposed sale on jeans, a purse or two, SD cards and a bunch of plastic items that must be some kind of failed cargo from China from 1995. They have every piece of junk except the fruitcake that my family used to pass along from one family to the next every year for 20 years...And yes, we used to bet on whether it was the exact same fruitcake making the rounds or if someone actually purchased a new one now and then...
