I had the same problem, but I let the play store run in the background for a while, and eventually it loaded. It was only an initialization thing as the play store loads quickly upon booting up now.
BTW has anyone had trouble rooting? I can't seem to get towelroot to work (I've tried versions 1 and 3). I also tried the root.zip package to no avail and the binary zip file.
