I convert to dual-mobi, which contains both mobi and azw3 formats in one file. When downloading from the Cloud, it will usually result in the the azw3 format being delivered to my Kindle. But it's not working for this one book.

Thanks oblox, my process is different, but should achieve the same result:
- edit epub and fix errors (I use an html editor, not Calibre, but that shouldn't make a difference)
- validate epub
- convert with Kindlegen via command line
- send to kindle via email
I will experiment with Kindlegen more, but I really wish we could figure out what causes send-to-kindle to reject the azw3 portion of these files.
