I have quite a few different readers and when I put them side by side their screens are all a bit different. Not long ago I bought a couple of Paperwhites for a couple of my neighbors and even their screens were a bit different. It's kind of hard to know how much is individual device difference and how much is model or brand difference.
However it didn't take me long to figure out that none of this matters. When comparing some look bad and others look great. When reading they all seem perfect.
I have all three models of the Paperwhite as well as a Voyage. I have 3 different model Kobos, 2 of which are lighted. And I have the new Nook Glowlight Plus. Side by side the best screen to my eyes is the Paperwhite 2. The worse is the Kobo Aura. But that's only when comparing side by side. When reading I can't decide which screen is better. They're all just fine.
