The default location , and the location when a
lost Library will cause a new one (Calibre Library) to be created is in the
Users Documents folder.
Typical reasons for this happening:
1) Existing Library was unavailable (user specified location) at Calibre start. External drive not ready, You ignored the cautions about Networked drives and did it anyway. A backup or A/V blocked access.
2) The user configuration folder/file was damaged and that was replaced (other settings may have been lost)
3) Your security suite went rogue for a bit and blocked something it should not have, and it was fixed in the next update.

The simple
fix is to merge the strays:
Select the books in the stray Library: Right click: Copy-to Library: <target>
This will Respect the Add Books Duplicate
setting in
Preferences: Adding Books <hint
