I'm up and running with Calibre now. Thanks for the help.

Sorry for the premature post but that's often what it takes to get me thinking clearly.

I got it working shortly after my first post, which is why it has a "never mind" ending (made famous by Gilda Radner of SNL), and because I could not figure out how to delete it. Calibre seems thus far to be the definitive solution for my project.

This thread really belongs one level up from its present location on the forum but I could not find a way to move it. It would be more accessible were an administrator to move it up.
