I'm not using my e-reader to hide what I'm reading, but I like that people don't see what I'm reading, especially when I'm out in public. Some of the stuff I read can make me look snooty or pretentious, so I'd rather have people think I'm reading a juicy thriller or something.
(Remember when Bush caught some grief for carrying around a copy of Camus' The Stranger? Wouldn't have been a problem if he'd had a kindle.)
