Its not really poor, but when you think about how long you went before doing the reset and restore... your iPad has, in fact, done remarkably well.

I usually do a full reset and restore when theres an OS update, or at least annually, to get rid of the junk. I also don't restore from a backup, because half the time, it brings back some of the junk. I always setup as a "new" device and even though its a PITA to have to go through and enter all your details again, it does make a difference to performance.
