Yes, that is it. The Voyage brought back that feeling I has when I read on my non lighted kindles. The letters are on the top like paper. Its the first lighted for me that has that same look. While the PW had a more window effect for me. Where the letters are more inside milk. I am not describing this good. They are inside, rather than on top. So for me the Voyage is best as far as readability. I have only owned myself a PW1, but I have had a chance to play with a recent one from a friend and although the new PW screen is light years better than my PW1, its still not like the Voyage.
Not saying that most would notice that, but my eyes are finicky and not the greatest and the letters on top like on Voyage, work better for me. Easier.
