50,000 pages; or, a variety of sub-challenges.

This looks like fun! I’m a very slow reader (I have dyslexia, and I often stubbornly refuse to wear my glasses), so I need to ensure that I make more time to read. After all, the amorphous "they" always say that there’s no such thing as not having enough time! With that in mind, my main goal is to read 50,000 pages over the course of 2016.

That sounds like a rather bland goal, though, and there’s nothing to stop me just reading comic books and children’s books towards the end of the year to "pad" my numbers! So I’m going to try to observe a number of sub-goals, to ensure that my selection is broadened beyond my usual comfort areas:
  • Five books which were originally written in a language other than English.
  • Five books which were written by five different female authors.
  • Five standalone books written by five different authors.
  • At least one book from the following five genres: Romance, Horror, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Lit Fic.
  • At least two books published in 2016.
