Hi for everybody. I'm new and English is not my mother tongue

I want to buy an Kobo Aura H2O reader.
I know the "main" system on it is Linux. Is it possible to install apps on it? Even "manualy", not from the installator?

Is it also possible to have a simple text editor on it which could save .txt file, just like Windows' Notepad? (Because Word docs editor is rather an unreal option...

) I want to make some notes when it will be necessary.

Yeah, I know that I can install Android on my SD card, but I want to avoid this...
