yea, Nook has always supported epub, it's the format that ebooks purchase from BN come in.
The issue is that the GLP runs KitKat which doesn't play nice with ADE. But BN is aware of the issue, and is going to put out a software update allowing you to authorize the GLP with an Adobe account.
