I've purchased an Asus ZEN laptop (Ultrabook actually, type UX305F) and am very happy with it!
Plays back DX11 games upto 720p really well, and DX9 games upto 1080p better than well!
Has 10 hours of battery life; has the newest Intel CPU, 14nm die, and new 3D transistors.
The CPU upclock itself depending on how much power it needs, and gets throttled by how hot (in temps) it gets.
Does anything my 2012 desktop with graphics card could do, and more.
Blazing fast USB 3 ports too.
Only cons are:
No touchscreen,
Lousy mousepad, with mouseclicks a la Apple, meaning 1 mouse button, clicks depending on where your finger is registered on the mousepad (which sucks for gaming),
and USB2 speeds for SD cardslot.
Similar Ultrabooks are sold for $1k+. This one is about half the price on Amazon ($645)!
Will probably be powerful enough for the next 3-4 years, and have enough battery life too. It'll probably be a good year or two before a 'better' laptop comes on the market (not including minor updates that will raise speed by marginally small amounts).
I just wanted y'all to know about it.
It's a super buy for this coming Black Friday!
