I vaguely recall seeing this problem before. Try disabling the "Check image files when opening RAR/CBR archive" option in the configuration. Some CBR files tend to have a problem with this option.
As far as logging goes, do you see the "pbiv.log" file in your chosen destination? It will be in the root directory of either the internal memory or the SD card as seen via USB, depending on which was chosen in the configuration menu?
