I don't know the release schedule for the UK, but traditionally, Kindles released in September or October in the US could only be ordered from the Netherlands in February of the next year. In Germany, they could be ordered in November of the year of release. (I got my KPW1 through Amazon Germany, by having it delivered at a friend's house.)
I haven't ordered a Kindle since then, so I don't know how it is now.
