Since the DPT-S1's screen is plastics, as opposed to other readers, and of very thin build, I'm not surprised that it's not perfectly flat. Mine isn't either. I don't see how this is a problem, though. Maybe it's more serious for you but for me it's hardly noticable. Any real paper book would be more wavy.
