Yes, but what if I don't like the version that's out 5 or 10 years from now? I've been noticing this a lot lately...that once a device (and even apps for that matter) is improved to the point where there's practically nothing left to improve, that's when they start changing things just for the sake of change. And those kind of changes often just end up spoiling things.

my experience lately. With devices, but especially with apps. A lot of the apps I use, I won't even update anymore. They were developed to perfection, but the developers still feel the need to push out new updates. So now they're
removing features, or making them more complicated, and ruining the simplicity of them.
