I don't have a paper punch handy but I think when I can get to one I'll probably punch a hole in the middle of the felt circle so I can have a Home button, but it'll be a small enough hole that I'm not likely to hit it by accident.
Even if somehow that doesn't work this is better than leaving the Home button wide open. That's a pain. This is a minor issue.

If you install Button Savior or similar then you will have a way to navigate Back or Home w/out the need of the "physical" button.
