One book, two series

I'm stuck on how to handle the Series field when 2 series combine.

For example, Robart Crais has the "Elvis Cole" series, and the "Joe Pike" series. My issue is when they are both in the same book, but also should be listed as their own series, e.g.
- The Sentry (Joe Pike #3)(Elvis Cole #12)
- Taken (Joe Pike, #4)(Elvis Cole, #13)

When necessary, I want to be able to filter the view to all books for a particular series (say, list the "Joe Pike" series), but don't want to physically duplicate a title in the library just to do so.
I was *hoping* to find a way to accomplish this with the existing "Series" field.

How do you folks handle this issue?
