What about the iPad emulation on the online preview (after you've uploaded to the KDP)? What do you see there?

How did you generate the e-book? People sometimes complain about the way Apple devices with recent OS display Kindle books. This may be the reason (otherwise a mystery to me) why Amazon recommends saving the Word file as html, then uploading the html to the KDP.
