@smanoyak: I cleaned up the edges of the screen and will try to use the physical buttons from now on - let's see how it'll work.
@randy11: I did use the contact form at the website - no answer so far. As for charging it overnight, I confess that I hadnt. Will leave it to charge in peace over the weekend and will report back.
@phogg: I am experiencing the problem even after rebooting and firing up oreader straight away but will keep an eye out for this.
Many thanks again - promise to write back if and what solved the problem!
