At the moment that the stream error was there, no one pointed out that 2.1 should work.

So I upgraded to 4 somewhere in april.
I think that when they start using the new DRM again,they prevent you from using 2.1 like they did with 1.7 and 2.0.
Getting rid of 1.7 was a bit of a problem here, while using 4, the ascm still called the old one which was no longer there, I had to change something in the register.
For now, the books handled by Google books, going trough 4.5 is working with the latest drm plugin in calibre, so I leave it the way it is until really needed, thanks.

/Edit, several pages say: If you're using Adobe DE 2.1, come July you won't be able to read any newly downloaded DRMed ebooks until after you upgrade to Adobe DE 3.0. If you're using a preferred 3rd-party reading app, you won't be able to download any new DRMed ebooks until after the app developer releases an update.
Adobe stopped using the deadline june, but it seems to be clear that when using the new DRM means that 2.1 will no longer work at that time.
