I'd strongly recommend that you also look at MobiPocket devices such as the CyBook or BeBook. Mobi gives you the widest range of stores to buy from, and gives you the flexibility to change your device without having to mess around with removing DRM, etc. The CyBook in particular has numerous advantages over both the Kindle and the Sony, such as the ability to load your own fonts onto the machine, dictionary lookup (yes, the Kindle has a dictionary, but the CyBook gives you the choice of hundreds of different dictionaries to choose from), and you're not tied to one supplier for eBooks.

Well worth considering!
