I had the same problem when I bought my Inkpad there quite a while ago. I vaguely recall that it didn't work if I tried to pay via PayPal, but it worked when I paid via my credit card through some other interface.

Edit: Whoops! I actually bought mine from maliseuse.com. The similar purchasing problem made me think it must have been the same vendor.
