Hi. I think I know the answer to my question but I hope you'll help me make sure that I'm not overlooking anything.

In my job, I read a lot of .pdfs. Mostly annual/quarterly reports and financial statements, as well as chart-laden financial research published by various banks and brokers. Often, these documents are big, multi-colored, and graphics-intensive (for documents, that is).

I think that means I'm going to want 16-shade grayscale. And I think that means that bigger is better as far as screen size goes.

As I understand it, among existing readers, only the iRex products fit the bill. But thanks to the recent price hike (demand must be pretty strong to raise prices in this environment), the iRex products look expensive-- especially with price talk of $350 for the Astak Pro Mentor and $450 for the Plastic Logic Whatchamacalit. But these two devices appear to be showing schedule slippage.

So unless I want to wait an unknown amount of time, I'm going to have to bite the iRex bullet. Which means $700 for a mid-sized screen with wireless, or $850 for a large screen without wireless (and I can't now get a vanilla DR1000 without a stupid stylus-- which means I'm shelling out for a feature I absolutely don't want).

Do I understand all of this correctly? Have I made any unfounded (or overstated) assertions or assumptions?
