Not necessarily. The points may have been the reason for the fix, but there's no reason to restrict the fix to the points-eligible regions. Might as well plug the hole everywhere.

Basically, as I read it, there were several minor glitches that the multitab bug allowed, and the points issue is only the most recent. However, it's also the squeakiest; people value the points they were missing out on more than minor problems like missing receipt emails.
