Did you contact M$ ? (or your IT department) This is a OS level issue.

The windows (even existed in DOS. In Linux it is /dev/nul ) standard device NUL: (like LPT1:,C: COM1: ) is missing or blocked . Firewalled?

NUL: is the system bit bucket to keep you from having to see messages from subroutines used by calibre
