Most people these days have a Smartphone, and certainly on an iPhone the free Librivox app makes it trivial to find and listen to recordings; you can just browse the catalogue by author, search, etc. No need to know how to download files or anything like that. I imagine that the Android version of the app works equally well.

This seems like a case of someone trying to make a profit from the generous free work of others.
