Halloween Avatars
I always upload .png files as avatars and have never had a problem. On Halloween, I even use animated gifs as my avatar (always for one day only, as animated gifs can quickly wear out their welcome). The only problem I've even encountered is file size. I can change into the Hulk, but Hulk can't smash. The face on my coffee cup can change into a grinning skull, but has no room to shake, rattle, and roll. Unanimated gifs are small by nature, so I don't understand why the site is giving you a fit over them.
