The screen shot looks phony to me. As Agent Mulder's poster proclaims, 'I Want To Believe', but it ain't happening for me yet.
Note the original title of this discussion, including the words 'end of September'. It's now November. There is only one source for this rumor (and the screenshot for that matter). No FCC filings, etc.
As for the (more or less unprecedented) sale on Voyage, it seems to me it is just a sale. To the extent that it depletes stock on hand, it probably hastens the arrival of Voyage 2, but I am guessing there are yet several months to wait for it. Tight control of inventory is the only way to avoid losing money when profit margins are low, and sales are not strong. Amazon isn't going to ship a new device (or even put it into production) if they have tons of the old one sitting around, short of some competitive threat (of which there are none).
But I may just be talking myself into picking up a Voyage at the sale price.
