I will second that. I started using Calibre and the first apprentice tools about 5-6 years ago.
I was able to save all my books from Mobipocket and my books from Amazon.
I was unfortunately not able to install Microsoft litt reader on my PC, and I lost about 25 books. Not the end of the world but still

Not so long ago I found some books that were protected by several long lost credit card codes. Also lost.
Lesson: Praise for Calibre and apprentice Alf.
