Yeah, finished Tai-Pan. A good book, but I did not enjoy it nearly as much as Shogun. I suspect it may be a while before I read his others.

Started reading Closer to the Heart, the latest Valdemar novel from Mercedes Lackey. This story arc is a continuation of Mags' story, and I'm actually enjoying it quite a bit. The narrator is Nick Podehl, and he's good, but not great. Still, certainly a change from the founding of Hong Kong!
