Hmm.. yes and no.. this extra option I ask is for the writer of the plugin to deside if he would make it or not. (no intention of being rude here)
Basically if the plugin was only limited to make a kepub, you would still need another driver to put it on to the reader, so this plugin does both, transfer the file to the reader and make an kepub ( or create first then transfer )
The normal plugin that transfers, has also a lot of side options to enable or disable so they are in this extended plugin to,or you need them still both.
I can only imagine that other people like me, or the author was thinking, what if...
If the extra options are not there, the need would be there for a second or third plugin that handles those extra functions.
So at the end, multiple creators would be making multiple plugins with a great chance that by difference in programming, plugins will interfear with each other,or people are being busy for weeks only to see that another person has made the same..
If you only want a plugin that makes the kepub, then disable all other functions and there it is..
Again not being rude, but then you can say to the makers of Sigil, stop this program, the functionality is already in Calibre, or vice versa.
Plugins are addons to make things more easy, it is the same with a lot of patches for Kobo, you can reach the same goal by editing the books.. for example, the patch to disable all .css can be reached by editing all books and delete the whole .css
Hyphenate can be disabled by entering the right values into the .css.
Getting book info to update metadata can also being done by search on Google, copy and paste it.
But those plugins can do it for you, automate the process, help you to not use 20 programs at all,or help people that don't know how to edit the books and can have it done by just placing or removing an option in one program without the knowledge..thanks to the powers of the options in the plugin..
We can also forget the whole calibre, write everything on paper and copy and paste the books into the reader... but thanks god, someone made the program and the plugins for us to do it... where is the limit, that is up to the maker and the user...
