I would add to what johnny said, though, that the Kindle doesn't support PDF reflow, and most PDFs are formatted for a much larger screen than the Kindle has. This makes attempting to read a PDF on the Kindle a frustrating experience, and one which in all honestly I wouldn't recommend.

If reading PDFs is important to you, a large-screen (9" or larger) tablet is far, far better than a Kindle.
