Wouldn't help anyway -- the serial numbers are listed @Amazon, they will notice if you create a non-existent serial number, and they'll also notice if the same serial number exists in multiple locations -- they'll just blacklist that number too.

Yes -- anything is "possible", and actually getting access to the device's internals is the blatantly obvious first step...
