If the book has the same exth 113, it might keep the collection. You'll need the Quality Check plugin to embed the ASIN there, as modifying the contents (e.g. changing embedded font ) will regenerate the AZW3 and regenerate (via UUID) a new exth 113.

You'll also need to be careful about modified titles/author -- I've noticed on my KT, if I clean and update the title on a book that has a collection, then resend the book without first deleting it through the framework, the Kindle freaks out and makes it go invisible.
