How mortifying.

If a moderator (double-)clicks the icon to the left of a thread title in any of the thread listings, it's a shortcut to close the thread.
Double-click is *supposed* to prevent accidental clicks.

I checked the logs -- it was me.
Never done that before -- but I swear this was a coincidence!!!!!

Thanks for pointing that out, and I've reopened the thread.
