Even their standard price is modest, though: most are sold for only £3, which I think is excellent value for money.
They are much more expensive over here - most are published by Open Road and are in the $7 and up range at Amazon US, rather than $4.60, which is about what my friendly exchange rate calculator tells me £3 translates to. And they don't go on sale every week or so! (I think the US is, in general, much less into historical mysteries than the UK.)

A few (One Corpse Too Many, Dead Man's Ransom, Monk's Hood) have editions sold directly by Amazon Digital Services at $2.99, but most titles have only have the Open Road versions.

Since most are published by Open Road, they are couponable at Kobo US, but they are $8.69 there, so even with the 50% coupon that's good through tomorrow, they are still over $4. And for me, $4 is the absolute max I'll pay for a back-list title that I already own in DTB, even in a series I love, but I've been slowly picking them up one-by-one in ebook as I see them on sale or have better coupons at Kobo.
