Yes, that is known behaviour for the N905 Touch. The device does not recognise the card after a restart but does after ejecting it and reinserting it. That has been the case for my N905 Touch for a long time. There has been an individual card that the device didn't like, but, most cards are OK.

I don't expect Kobo to fix this. It has been in the firmware for to long without change to expect anything to be done for a device they no longer manufacture..
