Well after turning off the
Do Not Disturb feature today I had a friend send a few text messages and the sound notifications worked properly. I put the iPhone in sleep mode first to better test it. I got the sound notification on my iPhone with each text and then it popped up the message box with sound notification on my MacBook Pro. So I guess there is either a bug in the
Do Not Disturb feature, or they simply didn't design it the way I thought they did.
