554 chapters? Really? Next time, please list the story with one chapter before the story with 554.

Regardless, I was able to download both of those stories without error. If you can duplicate the error while running calibre in debug mode (under calibre's preferences dropdown) and post the debug log, I may be able to help more.

As others have reported, I also am seeing site failures on AO3. FanFicFare already has mechanisms to retry several times with increasing delays between them. There's nothing more that can be done from our end.
