My cursor changes shape just as you describe. (I have been using Windows since 1992, and I never before noticed the shape-shifting!)

My filelist in Book Browser doesn't move when I click on different files. Indeed, to get to the files toward the end, I have to use the vertical scroll bar.

Windows 7 32 bit, Sigil 0.8.4
