DIY Frontlight?

Chances of a Kobo Mini Glo is very slim. Which leads me to a madness idea, hope you can help yourself not laughing!

Has anyone thought of doing a DIY frontlight project? I looked at disassembly of some Kobo devices with glowlight. My motivation is to implement a few low powered LEDs in my Mini and I believe it's possible... well, not like ComfortLight obviously!!! but just enough to make my sporadic reading at late hours possible without a lighted case (which for Mini are hard to find if feasible at all).

There are 5v LEDs on eBay.

There seems to be some enough gap between bezel and eInk screen to secure one or two LEDs that are attached to battery and have an on/off switch.

What are your thought?
